Review by Pam Marr Rybinski
If you have the time to fill in the pages of this memorial to your puppy, you’ll have no problem in the future remembering every little tidbit of his or her growing up. Pages are created in the form of charts, fill-in-the-blank questions, and lined pages for creative renderings of cute activities. Tidbits of advice are interspersed with quotes, most of which will prompt a smile.
My favorite page is one entitled “Tricks of the Trade.” It has a chart of commands/tricks with a column to enter the date taught, one column to enter the name of the person who taught the trick, and a column for comments. All the standard basic commands have a pre-printed line. Included are a couple less common tricks such as “rollover” and “play dead.” Lines are left for the new puppy owner to add more achievements.
This 9” X 12” ringed book is similar in configuration to a notebook . . . but without an opening mechanism. Consider it as a good gift for someone with a new puppy, particularly if the puppy’s training may end up as a joint or family effort.
