Treats are a fun and important part of your dog’s life. If you’re anything like us, treats have unlocked many a door for your dog. Since we use treats to train our dogs, and to positively reinforce good behavior, our dogs are clear on how to be GOOD dogs! And so we get to enjoy taking them through many doors, such as going on vacation, visiting stores, walking through town, visiting parks, participating in social events, etc.
We at Dog Momma take our treats very seriously. Treats need to be healthy, so there is no concern about bad ingredients when you’re using a large number. And they need to be delicious so your dogs will be glad to work for them!
I put treats into three functional categories:
- Training – these are tiny and moist, so you can use 100 at a time, keeping your dog’s interest without over-stuffing or choking your dog!
- Just for fun (quick) – by far the biggest category of treats available – these taste great but aren’t tiny and don’t last long.
- Just for fun (long) – a treasure for a busy mom or pop – these treats are the doggie equivalent to watching Sesame Street – 30 minutes of freedom for mom while your dog disappears into treat heaven.
They’re all good! I just like to think of them in these functional categories.
